Measurement
Session
In Google Analytics, a session is a period of user engagement with a website, defined as a group of interactions — pageviews, events, transactions — that take place within a 30-minute activity window. A new session begins when a user arrives after 30 minutes of inactivity, at midnight, or upon returning from a different campaign source.
Session data is tracked in Google Analytics under Audience > Overview and Behavior > Overview, enabling segmentation by traffic channel, device, geography, and user type. Session quality metrics (duration, pages/session, goal completion) are key indicators of content and UX performance tracked alongside Search Console keyword data.
