Measurement
Impression
An impression in Google Search Console is counted each time a URL from a website appears in a user's search results, regardless of whether the user clicks on it. Impressions measure search visibility and are distinct from clicks, which require user interaction. High impressions with low CTR indicate opportunities for title/description optimization.
Impressions are tracked in Google Search Console's Performance report and can be filtered by query, page, country, device, and search type (web, image, video). Monitoring impression trends via Google Search Console and Ahrefs or SEMrush keyword tracking helps identify keywords gaining or losing visibility.
