Index
The Google Index is a massive database of web pages and their content that Google has crawled, processed, and stored to serve relevant results in response to user queries. Google's index contains hundreds of billions of web pages and is continuously updated as Googlebot discovers and re-crawls URLs.
Index status is monitored through Google Search Console's Index Coverage report, which shows indexed pages, excluded pages, and any errors preventing indexing. The "site:" search operator in Google provides a rough estimate of indexed pages, while URL Inspection shows the exact indexing status of individual URLs.
