Sitelinks
Sitelinks are additional navigational links automatically generated by Google and displayed beneath a website's main listing in branded or navigational search results, typically showing 2–6 prominent internal pages such as "About," "Contact," "Products," or "Blog." Google algorithmically determines sitelinks based on site structure, internal link architecture, and user behavior signals.
While webmasters cannot directly specify sitelinks, they can influence them by maintaining a clear site hierarchy, strong internal linking, and descriptive anchor text on primary navigation links. Google Search Console previously allowed "demoting" specific sitelinks, but this feature was removed. Sitelinks appear in Google Search Console's Performance report under branded queries.
