Jump Link
A jump link (also called an anchor link or in-page link) is a hyperlink that directs users to a specific section within the same page or a different page, identified by an HTML anchor element (id attribute). Jump links are commonly used in long-form content, table of contents sections, and FAQ pages to improve navigation.
Jump links are generated using HTML id attributes and href="#anchor-name" syntax and can be verified using browser developer tools. Google can recognize jump links and may use them in featured snippets and "People Also Ask" results. Screaming Frog and Ahrefs track pages using anchor links as part of internal link analysis.
