Code 301
A 301 redirect is a permanent HTTP redirect that tells browsers and search engines that a page has moved to a new URL permanently. Google passes the majority of PageRank (link equity) through 301 redirects, making them the preferred method for URL migrations, site restructuring, and canonicalization.
Redirect configurations are managed via server rules (.htaccess, nginx.conf) or CMS plugins, and can be audited with Screaming Frog SEO Spider to detect chains and loops. Google Search Console's Index Coverage report confirms when redirected pages are properly processed and removed from the index.
