Domain Age
Domain age refers to the length of time since a domain name was first registered with a domain registrar. While Google's John Mueller has stated that domain age per se is not a direct ranking factor, older domains often have accumulated backlinks, trust signals, and historical authority that contribute to stronger search performance.
Domain age is verified using WHOIS lookup services such as DomainTools or ICANN WHOIS. Ahrefs' Site Explorer shows a domain's first seen date (when Ahrefs first crawled it), while Wayback Machine (archive.org) reveals when a site's content first appeared online.
