Code 410
HTTP 410 (Gone) is a permanent error status code indicating that the requested resource has been deliberately and permanently removed from the server, with no forwarding address. Unlike a 404, which may be temporary, a 410 signals to search engines that they should definitively de-index the page.
A 410 response is implemented at the server level and can be confirmed using Google Search Console's URL Inspection tool and Screaming Frog. Google typically processes 410 pages faster than 404s for de-indexing, making it the preferred response for intentionally deleted pages.
