Sentiment Analysis
Sentiment analysis (or opinion mining) classifies text as positive, negative, or neutral, and more granularly identifies emotions, aspects, and intensity. Applications include monitoring brand mentions, analyzing customer reviews, tracking social media sentiment, and informing marketing strategy.
Fine-grained sentiment analysis identifies sentiment toward specific aspects ("the battery is great but the screen is poor"). Modern transformer-based models have dramatically improved accuracy, handling sarcasm, negation, and domain-specific language.
